PRIVACY POLICY

Your data,
kept small.

LAST UPDATED: 23 OCTOBER 2026

The short version: if you join the waitlist, we keep your email address and the few answers you give, so we can tell you about Flink. Nothing else. No cookies, no ad tracking, no selling. We count visits with cookieless, aggregated statistics that don't identify you. Ask us to delete it anytime at hello@flinkmesh.com.

1. Who we are

Flink is a project and brand operated by SUBTILE CommV (a Belgian limited partnership, commanditaire vennootschap), Belgiëlei 137 bus 6, 2018 Antwerpen, Belgium, enterprise and VAT number BE 0891.128.409, until a dedicated Flink company is set up. If that happens, we'll update this page and tell you before your data moves.

SUBTILE CommV is the controller of your personal data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Contact for anything privacy-related: hello@flinkmesh.com. Responsible person: Georges Lieben, managing partner. We have not appointed a data protection officer, because the law doesn't require one for what we do.

2. What we collect

Only when you join the waitlist on flinkmesh.com:

Like any website, our hosting and database providers also process technical data such as your IP address in short-lived server logs, to deliver the page and keep it secure. We don't use those logs to profile you.

Visit statistics. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It's cookieless: it doesn't store anything on your device and doesn't use persistent identifiers. Vercel recognises a visit by a hash of the incoming request that resets every 24 hours, so you can't be followed across days or across websites, and we only see aggregated numbers (pages, referring sites, country, browser, operating system and device type). We don't build personal profiles. We strip query strings before anything is sent, and the unsubscribe page doesn't load analytics at all.

We don't use cookies, tracking pixels or advertising tools on flinkmesh.com. The 3D model and the code behind it are served from our own domain, so no third party sees your visit through them.

3. Why we use it

To run the Flink waitlist: to send you one confirmation email right after you sign up, to email you when reservations open, and to send you occasional launch and product updates about Flink. Your answers on kit, region and use help us plan the first batch (how many kits, which frequency version). Your country and, if you give it, your postcode help us plan shipping and frequency versions, and see where nodes would cluster, so we know where community mesh coverage is needed. We only look at locations in aggregate (for example, how many sign-ups per country or area); we don't ask for your street address. We don't use your data for anything else, and we don't send you marketing for other products.

4. Legal basis

Your consent (GDPR article 6(1)(a)), which you give by joining the waitlist. You can withdraw it anytime, as easily as you gave it: reply to any of our emails, use the unsubscribe link in them, or write to hello@flinkmesh.com. Withdrawing doesn't affect anything we did before.

Server logs and the cookieless visit statistics are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure website and understanding, in aggregate, how it's used (article 6(1)(f)). Keeping the date you unsubscribed is based on our legitimate interest in respecting that choice.

5. How long we keep it

Until Flink launches plus 24 months, or until you withdraw your consent or ask us to delete it, whichever comes first. Then we delete it.

6. Who else handles it

We don't sell, rent or share your personal data. We use three service providers (processors) that handle data only on our instructions:

7. Your rights

You can ask us, for free, to:

Email hello@flinkmesh.com from the address you signed up with. We'll reply within one month.

If you think we got it wrong, please tell us first. You also have the right to file a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit / Autorité de protection des données), Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels, gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be, or with the authority in the EU country where you live.

8. For California residents

Under the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA): the categories of personal information we collect are listed in section 2, and we share them only with the service providers in section 6. We do not sell or share your personal information, including for cross-context behavioural advertising. Do Not Track: we don't track you across sites or over time, so Do Not Track signals don't change anything on flinkmesh.com. To review or change the information you gave us, or to have it deleted, email hello@flinkmesh.com.

9. Children

The waitlist is not meant for children under 16. If you believe a child signed up, let us know and we'll delete it.

10. Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change matters for how we use your data, we'll email you before it takes effect.
