keep
talking.
Some things are worth having a backup for. Flink is your own small communication network in a box. It works when the mobile network and the internet don't.
Open. Switch on.
You're on air.
The devices leave our bench already configured to talk to each other, privately. No frequencies, channels or encryption keys to figure out. We did the fiddly part.
- 2 or 3 × Flink nodesPRECONFIGURED AS ONE PRIVATE GROUP
- 1 USB-C cable per nodeCHARGE FROM ANY PHONE CHARGER
- 1 lanyard & clip per nodeBACKPACK, BELT, BOAT, HALLWAY HOOK
- 1 × Quick start cardONE SIDE. THREE STEPS.
- 1 × "Plan B" cardWHO, WHERE, WHEN, IF PHONES ARE DOWN
Switch on.
Press and hold the button. The light says ready. Your Flink nodes already know each other.
Connect your phone.
Pair over Bluetooth with the companion app. Your phone becomes the keyboard and the screen.
That's it.
Send messages and share your location with the others in your group. Over radio, not over the internet.
Private first.
Bigger together.
Flink uses LoRa, a long-range, low-power radio. Messages hop directly from device to device. No towers, no servers. Your kit works on its own from day one, and it can do more as the network around you grows.
Mostly ordinary days.
Occasionally not.
Power cut at home.
Phones are on 9% and the network is patchy. Everyone can still check in.
Hiking & camping.
Find each other on the trail or across the valley, where there are zero bars.
Festivals.
Fifty thousand phones, one mast. Meet at the stage without "where are u??".
Sailing.
Boat to boat, boat to shore. Text and positions within radio range.
Places without coverage.
The holiday house, the farm, the ski hut. Wherever the signal gives up.
When networks are overloaded.
Big events, big storms, big news. Your group isn't waiting for a free channel.
Street resilience.
A few nodes and a repeater turn a street into a little network of its own.
And yes, emergencies.
Not because we expect the worst. Just because a plan B is cheap and calm.
No strings attached.
Literally.
And it's not a doomsday kit. No camouflage, no bunker talk. Just a well-made backup for the moments your phone can't reach anyone, for whatever reason.
Technically credible.
Not technically difficult.
Built on proven open technology instead of reinventing it. Here's what's inside, without the marketing maths.
- RADIO
- LoRa long-range, low-power radio
- BAND
- EU 868 MHz, licence-free short-range band, used within EU duty-cycle rules
- NETWORK
- Mesh: each device can relay messages for others. Based on open Meshtastic / MeshCore firmware
- RANGE
- Kilometres, depending on terrain. Open land and height help, buildings and hills don't
- PRIVACY
- Your kit ships with its own private, encrypted channel and keys
- PHONE
- Pairs over Bluetooth with a companion app on iOS and Android
- MESSAGES
- Short text messages and location sharing. Not voice, not photos
- POWER
- Rechargeable battery, USB-C. Low-power by design
Range and battery life vary a lot with terrain, antenna placement, usage and available repeaters. We'll publish our own measured results from field tests before the first batch ships, instead of quoting best-case numbers.

We're starting small and doing it properly: hand-checked, preconfigured and tested before it leaves us. Leave your email and we'll let you know when your kit can be reserved. No payment today.
ONE EMAIL WHEN RESERVATIONS OPEN. MAYBE ONE WITH FIELD-TEST RESULTS. THAT'S IT. WE ONLY USE YOUR EMAIL FOR FLINK, AND YOU CAN ASK US TO DELETE IT ANYTIME.
Thanks. Talk soon. Offline, if needed.
We'll email you when batch 01 opens. In the meantime: agree on a family meeting point. It's free, and it's the best backup there is.
Fair questions.
Do I need mobile coverage or Wi-Fi?
No. Flink devices talk to each other over radio. Your phone only connects to your own Flink node, over Bluetooth, and works as its screen and keyboard. It doesn't need a SIM, data or Wi-Fi to do that.
How far does it reach?
Kilometres, depending on terrain. In open land, on water or from a height it can go far. In dense cities, inside buildings or behind hills, a lot less. Repeaters make a big difference. We'd rather show you real field tests than promise a number on the box.
Is it legal to use in Europe?
Flink uses the EU 868 MHz short-range band, which can be used without a licence within the rules for power and airtime. The devices are set up for that band and those limits out of the box.
Can strangers read my messages?
Your kit comes with its own private, encrypted channel. Other people on a community mesh can help relay your messages, but they can't read your private group's conversation.
What is Meshtastic / MeshCore?
Open-source projects that turn small LoRa radios into a mesh messaging network. They're great, and also built for enthusiasts. Flink takes that proven technology and does the setup for you, so you don't have to touch firmware, frequencies or keys.
Will it work with other Meshtastic or MeshCore devices?
That's the idea: when compatible devices and repeaters are around, Flink can use them to reach further. Compatibility depends on the protocol and settings, and we'll document exactly what works before we ship.
Duo or Trio?
Duo is two devices: perfect for two people, or one at home and one with you. Trio adds a third device, which makes a family or small group work and means one node can stay home while two go out. You can add extra nodes to either kit later.
Can I make voice calls?
No. LoRa is built for small amounts of data over long distances: short texts and locations. That's a feature: it's what makes the range and battery life possible.
When does it ship and what does it cost?
Two kits: Duo, two devices for €149, and Trio, three devices for €199. We're preparing a first batch of around 100 kits. Join the waitlist and we'll email you when reservations open, with a delivery estimate. Nothing to pay until then.
